I gave blood again today. I don't post this to brag, I post this as a reminder to all of you. :)
Here are some facts on my blood donor card:
* One blood donation can help save up to 3 lives.
* Only 5% of the eligible US population donates blood.
* Every 2 seconds someone in America needs blood.
* Less than 30% of the people who give blood once will ever give blood again.
* Donated blood only lasts for 42 days.
* You can donate blood as many as 6 times a year.

Good reminder. I was denied giving so many times because of anemia that I don't even think of it very often.
whoooray!!! I give blood as often as I can beacuse of the lives it can save. A small sacrifice for the blessing of a life.
Well, they seem to want Spencer's blood more than 6 times a year. They hound him. They love his blood.
GROWL! Don't you realize that you are my nemesis with this stuff? There are few things that I feel guilty for not doing, since I try to be an all around good person. Giving blood is one thing I KNOW I should do and don't. It's not just mental. I've had issues with it and passed out, but still....I feel guilty. Ughhhhh, Leslie! Even worse, my blood type is rare. My excuse I will cling to currently is being pregnant. Please don't tell me I can give blood pregnant...please, I beg you. ;)
