Oregon Coast

* * * * * * * *
While we were in Oregon, I drove over to the coast one Saturday to meet up with a friend of mine. We did a few hikes and it was absolutely breathtaking. So... here are some of the photos from our day...

You can't see it very well from this far away, but there are some mountain goats resting on that cliff across the way. The next few photos show it a little better. I couldn't get enough photos.

This is my friend Ryan and me. We had a blast that day. And yes, Ryan is just a friend. A really good friend.

These were outside of the restaurant where we ate lunch. They were calm and so amazing.

This is a Seal.

This is a Sea Lion.

We also hiked through a trail in the Redwoods. Beautiful.

Me... with a huge tree root.

Happy Fathers Day, Aaron...

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

"There is no other relationship quite like that which can and should exist between a boy and his dad."
~ Elder M. Russell Ballard

Admittedly, it sure is tough watching Aaron Jr walk up to the front of the chapel with the rest of the primary kids then watch him sing Dad songs up there for Fathers Day. He seemed to just stare at me most of the time. And in our current situation, I wouldn't have it any other way. He is such a sweet boy. I love him so much.

Happy Fathers Day, Aaron...
we sure do love and miss you.

Happy Fathers Day to my own Dad as well. Love you so much.

Random May & Other Catch Ups

GO CELTICS !!!

I had to put this one in because I REALLY REALLY REALLY want the Boston Celtics to beat the Los Angeles Lakers SO badly.
I bought this shirt recently for Aaron, but I actually remember that game back in 1986 when the Celtics beat the Lakers. It is one of my fondest memories of watching sports on TV while growing up. My family were HUGE Celtics fans and it was a very HAPPY moment for us when they won. So... here's hoping for a repeat of 1986.

Aaron with my oldest nephew / his oldest cousin, Richard.
Then Aaron pumping up his tires when we still lived in Lehi. We sure miss Lehi... :( .

Aaron walking Ode when we went for a walk with my sister and some of her kids.

And more of Aaron walking Ode and such. The top photo of him crying is when he was forced him to let the other kids hold the leash and walk Ode.

Hannah and Elise on their bikes. Stella walking Ode. Angus walking Ode. And Henry looking sweet and cute.

This was the day Aaron and I went and had an all day date for my birthday back in March.

And we topped the day off with bowling... it was fun.

He was pretty proud of himself...

Aaron in his Napoleon Dynamite outfit on the left. (unintentional)
Aaron with his bug catcher trap thingy on the right... with a June bug in it. Yes, I am the one who "gets" to help him catch his bugs... hahaha. Actually, I enjoy doing that stuff with him. I love this little boy.

When April and Dave were in town, we went to Fat Cats for April's birthday. Bowling and dinner and fun.

We also went to lunch at Paradise Bakery one day with all the gals. It was fun.
I think I kinda blend into the tree in the background with my dark hair. ;) Aaron is the one who is smiling while rubbing his eye. ;) hahaha. What a bunch of cute kids.

A fun day at the park with Lori and Lisa and their kids who are not in school.
Lily, Stella, and Aaron had an innovative way of sliding down the slide. Angus and Michael watch from afar on the bottom photo.

Sophia and Robbie L
Lila with a balloon and hair that is very full of static. And that is where we are now. Lila is Spencer and Kristi's little girl and we have been staying in Oregon with them again. Its so much fun. We have had a blast.
The bottom photo is of some of John R's famous home made brownies. We were waiting for them to cool before partaking of them and I accidentally bumped a pot of flowers with my elbow and of course it landed upside down RIGHT ON TOP of these scrumptious brownies. Aaron could not stop crying about it because he had been looking forward to that brownie the whole time they were in the oven... and we had already left their house when this happened... BUMMER.

And that does it for May.

Oregon Coast

Oh, the beauty...

Oh, the beauty... :)

Aaron and me (Leslie)
Ok, so we will start at Cape Meares lighthouse. It is right outside of Tillamook, Oregon. NO, we didn't have time to stop at the cheese factory. But we wanted to.

Top: Benny, Aaron, Lila, Spencer, Luke
Bottom: Luke, Aaron, Benny

Aaron is just worn right out. :)

Top: Benny, Spencer, Aaron, Luke, Lila, Leslie (me)
Bottom: Spencer, Luke, Leslie, Aaron

Spencer, Benny, Luke, with Aaron being encouraged to race up the hill by Spencer.

This is Lila and Kristi. Lila was being comforted because of her wipe out of nose and forehead to pavement. Poor little thing. Once it scabbed over, it looks so much worse. She is still cute though... thank heavens for that. :)

Oceanside Beach. I couldn't get enough photos here. The lighting was perfect. And the beach itself was so much fun to take photos of. The black rocks on the beach looked spectacular and I had to get every angle with and without the sun. Did I ever mention that I take too many photos? :)
oh yeah... and this is Aaron and me again.

Aaron doin' his thang. He loves to dig in the dirt / sand.
I should mention that when I told him we were coming on this trip to visit Spencer and Kristi's family again and might go to the beach, he was packed THAT day... no clothes, just four little bags of toys and other random things that were precious to him that day... and of course all of his beach shovels and bucket. That was a whole week before we left and he would carry that stuff back and forth from right next to his bed out to the living room and then back to his bed every day until we left. He is the funniest kid ever... and I love him so much.

Just another beauty shot.

Spencer and Luke. Such fun beach shots of them.

Spencer & Kristi's cute kids: Spencer, Luke, Benjamin, Lila

Our cute kid: Aaron Jr.
(he was getting so frustrated that I was interrupting him for photo ops)

ok ok ok, another beauty shot. :)

Okay, and here is proof that Aaron Jr. really DOES get tired of me having the camera in his face all the time. He is such a good sport so much of the time... but I totally understand him getting tired of it. He has had four and a half years of life... with a camera on him SO much of the time. What can I say? Its not my fault he is so stinking cute. BUT... these photos do go from him to REALLY upset... to him kindof laughing while I started running from him snapping photos of him being mad. That made him laugh.

He looked too perfect not to add this one.

Luke was busy finding treasures on the beach the whole time.
Kristi sat on that rock making PB&J sandwiches the whole time for our drive home. (thanks Kristi)
Benny was a bit of a loner some of the time.
And Lila couldn't get enough... even when her dress was wet and dirty.

And again... Spencer, Luke, Benny, Lila

Aaron.

Aaron wanted his boat to float down this little stream, so Spencer helped him clear away sand to help it along.
Aaron helped lil Spencer with a sand castle... well, kinda a sand castle.
Bottom right: Benny, Luke, Lila, Spencer

Spencer and Kristi's family. We love to visit them! Thanks again guys... for this really fun trip!

Aaron and Me. LOVE that backdrop for a family photo. Right?

Aaron Jr. ~ The End.

Ok fine... I had to sneak one more beauty shot in here.
