Last Day of School / New Fish

Aaron, Michael, Lily
Today was the last day of school for the kids.

Lori and I decided that it would be fun to take the kids on a field trip.
We talked about going to a pet store, so Lori decided we could take their dog Jack with us and the kids could see him have a bath and a hair cut and look around the pet store at the other pets.
So that is what we did. Here they are in front of the window where Jack was to get a hair cut. He is laying on the floor in the back ground.

And here is Jack after his bath and hair cut.
Yes, Jack is a three legged dog. He was hit by a car when he was a pup.
My sister's family adopted him having only three legs. Their daughter Julia is a dog guru and she loves dogs more than any other person I have ever met. And she knows more about dogs and breeds than anyone I have ever met. Its awesome.

Happy Last Day of School Kids!!!

So, while we were there, I wanted to let Aaron Jr get a fish.
He has been missing Ode so much and has been asking about getting a new dog, but we can't right now... so I figured a fish would be a great pet for him right now.
Here are the kids with the fish stuff in their carts.

And here is the fish Aaron picked.
It is a BETA fish, so I guess they are supposed to live the longest in a fish bowl.

Aaron putting the blue rocks in the bottom of the fish bowl.

Ta-Da!

He couldn't stop watching his new fish.

When I asked him what he wanted to name his fish, he just kept saying words that were completely made up. They were words that we would never have been able to remember. I suggested he use the word 'blue' in the name, so he came up with the name:
Bluin.

So, Bluin it is.

'Hurry and take the photo, Mom... this is heavy. I might drop it.'

Aaron Jr and his new pal, Bluin the fish.

I wonder if I could put off getting a dog by getting the kids a fish.
We still have one more week of school, just in time for the reunion.
I love the fish's name. I also love the picture of Aaron looking into the fish bowl from the side. Very cute.
